Plate Testing System A RELIANT Plate Inspection System is designed to inspect Plate for flaws using ultrasonic shearwave testing. The system can inspect plate up to 78" wide and 1" thick with a total of (8) ultrasonic channels. The plate width is input by the operator and the test head then moves across the plate width in a reciprocating motion with speeds of up to 40" per second. The plate length moves under the test head on a powered conveyor. A calibration stand is located at one end of the overhead beam. A strip of plate containing reference reflectors is used to perform a dynamic calibration of the system.
